Security and privacy concerns of health data use identified in new research
During the pandemic, a team led by Charlotte Summers conducted a survey of 4,000+ people to understand security and privacy concerns about the use of health data.
While we regularly engage in co-development activities at DDM Health, this survey focused specifically on the perceptions of anonymised and identifiable data use in the context of COVID-19.
Results indicate that data sensitivity is highly contextual and the nascency of legal guidance in this area suggests a need for urgent guidelines for data responsibility during disaster relief operations such as pandemics and for involving the public in their development.
