DDM launch COVID-19 survey with University of Warwick and University of Edinburgh
DDM has partnered with researchers at University of Warwick and University of Edinburgh to collect opinions about COVID-19 and how data from individuals is used in the control of the infection.
Smart phone apps, including ones supported by governments, are being tested and rolled out globally to trace people who might be infected. They vary in design and each country is using the data differently. Concerns have been raised about personal privacy and ethics. The DDM-led research team will use the survey data to understand people’s views on the use of personal health and location data during the COVID-19 pandemic. The insights generated from the study will help inform policy makers, public health doctors, app designers and other researchers with their work.
