DDM and UHCW win HSJ Award for Empowering Patients Through Digital

DDM Health is thrilled to announce that we, in collaboration with University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, have been honoured with the prestigious "Empowering Patients Through Digital" Award at the HSJ Digital Awards on June 6, 2024.

The HSJ Digital Awards celebrate outstanding contributions to healthcare through technology and innovation.

This accolade recognises our innovative co-developed solution, Gro Health W8Buddy, a specialist weight management service that has recently been recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Gro Health W8Buddy stands out as a pioneering platform designed to support individuals on their weight management journey.

This service combines personalised digital interventions with expert guidance making it easier for patients to achieve their health goals and clinically meaningful weight loss.

Recognition from the HSJ Digital Awards highlights the significant impact of Gro Health W8Buddy in empowering patients and transforming healthcare delivery through digital innovation.

Dr Petra Hanson, NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes and Endocrinology, MBChB, BSc, MRCP, FHEA, PhD) was supported through an NHS Clinical Entrepreneurship and Topol Digital Fellowship, demonstrating dedication and relentless effort which have not only led to this esteemed award but also set a new standard in digital health solutions.

"We are over the moon to receive this award," said Arjun Panesar, Founding CEO of DDM Health, providers of the Gro Health platform.

"It is a huge testament to the hard work and commitment of our team. We are proud to collaborate with UHCW NHS Trust and look forward to continuing to make a positive difference in patients' lives.

"Winning the Empowering Patients Through Digital Award affirms DDM Health's commitment to using digital solutions to enhance patient care, reduce health inequalities and acheive clinically meaningful outcomes."

The solution was co-developed by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust clinicians, feedback from over 2,500 patients and DDM Health.
