Net Zero Plan

DDM Health is proud to be Net Zero, certified by Positive Planet.

Scope: Our Net Zero status covers all Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with our business operations, including offices, digital infrastructure, travel, supply chain, and service delivery.

1. Current status

  • We have achieved Net Zero through a combination of minimising emissions and investing in high-quality, verifiable carbon sequestration projects.
  • These sequestration projects are independently verified and align with recognised standards such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Gold Standard.

2. Approach

We follow the carbon management hierarchy - Avoid, Reduce, Replace, and then Offset:

  1. Avoid: Reducing unnecessary travel and favouring remote meetings and digital delivery.
  2. Reduce: Operating energy-efficient offices and data centres, procuring renewable energy, and minimising waste.
  3. Replace: Sourcing low-carbon suppliers and encouraging sustainable practices within our supply chain.
  4. Offset/Sequester: Balancing any remaining emissions through nature-based sequestration projects that actively remove CO₂ from the atmosphere.

3. 2050 commitment

Although we are already Net Zero, we have a 2050 Net Zero Plan to ensure:

  • We maintain and improve our sequestration projects over time.
  • We continuously reduce residual emissions through innovation and efficiency.
  • We adapt to new science-based targets and emerging best practices in carbon accounting.

4. Measurement and reporting

  • Annual carbon footprint assessment conducted by Positive Planet.
  • Public reporting on our website with year-on-year comparisons.
  • Independent third-party verification of sequestration projects.

5. Future actions

  • Invest in new UK-based sequestration projects to complement existing international initiatives.
  • Work with suppliers to achieve their own Net Zero targets.
  • Continue to integrate low-carbon technology and operations into our service delivery.
