Diabetes Digital Media are pioneers in digital healthcare. Diabetes Digital Media (DDM) operate, the world’s most active and engaged diabetes community, and provides digital health interventions with clinically validated, peer-reviewed outcomes. Our AI-led digital health interventions are changing the lives of millions of people. We’re starting by putting as many of the 375m cases of type 2 diabetes into remission as we can, with our Low Carb Program.

Our evidence-based digital health interventions, like the Low Carb Program, have been featured in the New Scientist, The Times, Daily Mail, Sky News and BBC with thousands of people placing their type 2 diabetes into remission. The Low Carb Program is grounded in behaviour change psychology and our peer-reviewed health outcomes have shown impressive results. Used within the NHS, 1 in 4 members are able to put their type 2 diabetes into remission whilst 60% are also able to reduce or eliminate insulin and 40% are able to eliminate one or more medications.

The position is based at DDM’s Head Office at University of Warwick Science Park.

The role

DDM are looking for an enthusiastic videographer with good experience in TV broadcast and digital film editing to join their creative department. You will be responsible for shooting and editing video content for use across all our TV and digital media platforms. This role requires a creative thinker with the ability to turn projects around quickly keeping inline with the brief.

Experience in CGI animation and special effects editing would be desirable, but not essential.

A strong team work ethic is essential collaborating with creative team members daily, reporting directly to the Head of Engagement. The studio atmosphere is positive, fast paced and team focused. You will be expected to participate in team discussions demonstrating confidence presenting your ideas to the creative team and business. Some projects may require working on location and generating reactive content at very short notice.

Skills required

In order to succeed within this role as a creative video editor and videographer you will have to demonstrate you have experience in the following key areas:

  • Creative experience in filmmaking
  • Good knowledge of the latest editing software
  • Good knowledge of the Adobe creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects)
  • Proficient in creating concept boards and other visual representations of planned edits for video projects
  • Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation
  • The ability to follow instructions and studio working practices
  • A high level of attention to detail – you will need to achieve high quality standards
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Confident with producing a variety of conceptual ideas regularly
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • A positive, flexible and approachable attitude
  • Happy to work on multiple edit versions following project reviews with senior management
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to remain calm and focussed working under pressure
  • Ability to adapt and think on the spot under pressure, solving problems and resolving issues with potential barriers
  • Strong audio editing skills
  • Mac literate

Key responsibilities

  • Producing creative video content from concept through to final execution for use across our digital media
  • Assembling all raw footage in preparation for backing up to the archive and editing
  • Improve video and sound quality using various editing software
  • Creating quick ‘rough cuts’ of the film and reviewing for the next and final editing stages
  • Produce video content working to very tight deadlines
  • Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for final video exports according to the required media specifications
  • Report any project issues/concerns immediately to the Head of Creative
  • Ensure all creative work produced is on-brand and answers the brief correctly
  • Ensure clear communication with key stakeholders so that they are fully informed at all stages of the project
  • Identifying upcoming issues/complications with video edit tasks to overcome barriers
  • Editing video in styles suitable for various platforms and purposes
  • Sourcing and licensing music and sound effects for various projects, inline with the brief
  • Carrying out advanced colour correction and grading
  • Keeping up to date and ahead of the game with trends specific to video editing
